Black Lives Matter Does Not Promote Unity

Let’s be real. The words “Black Lives Matter” is a non-inclusive statement.

YOUR LIFE MATTERS!!  I’ll say it again:

YOUR LIFE MATTERS!!     That is a true non-racist statement.  If you really want to be anti-racist, color-blind, and an equal opportunity promoter, then this is what you believe.  It is ALL inclusive.  It does not focus on one group of people at the expense of another group.  We are the United States of America.  There is a reason why we had a civil war between the North and the South.  President Abraham Lincoln saw the danger of a country ripped apart.  It would’ve been so easy to just let the South form their own country.  Look at the autonomous zones we have in the present. Trump-free zones.  Police-free zones. (That’s a good one…NOT).  He decided to go to war not only to stand for freedom for every citizen, but also to keep us the United States of America. I’m sure most of us agree it was a good decision though it cost the blood of those who fought it. And ultimately cost the life of President Abraham Lincoln for his stand.
Back to the “United” part.  We all know that our country has been called a “melting pot”.  We have been mixed and stirred so much over the last 244 years that it’s pretty hard to find a real 100 percent true ‘white’ person.  Seriously, except for the Native Americans, the United States was populated by a variety of immigrant cultures.  And, in case you didn’t know it….interracial relationships. Aww snap! Better sign up for Ancestry.com. Honestly, who do we consider “white”?  Is it the color of your skin? I know Puerto Ricans who are white as can be.  Oh yes, and people from Spain.  Hmm…the French. Look at Canada.  Germans are pretty white too.  What about the Irish?  What about mixed and half?  Should the “white” grandfather part pay reparations for the “black” grandmother part?
Finally, if anyone claims to be a person of faith, then it is automatically assumed that we are created in the image of God. “So God created mankind in his own image…” (Genesis 1:27). The Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal.  All life has value. One color is not above another. We are not a perfect country.  We are not a perfect people.  We are, however, constantly striving to be better.  We succeed as a united country, not as a divided one.  YOUR LIFE MATTERS to me.  If we all adopt this attitude, there is no room for hate. It is time to stop letting the Washington D.C. politicians and those who run with them tell us that we should hurt our neighbors, our communities, our small businesses, and our police because we are a racist country.  We are so much more than that.  History testifies to that.  Politicians like Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, Kamala Harris, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Obama (you get the point) were voted into office by the people of the United States to serve in our great country.  In case you didn’t catch it…they ain’t “white”.  They are of different nationalities, different cultures.  And most likely either they, their parents, or their grandparents came to the United States for a better life.  Many immigrants came and are still coming to the United States of America for a better life.  That, my fellow citizens, is not the footprint of a racist country.
